The Olympic Oval is here and is nearly complete. We must make sure that all Richmond benefits from this facility that will be here for many years to come.
Many people have expressed concern about the cost of this facility and although this in many ways is water under the bridge, it is a valid concern, and should continue to be monitored closely.
The process by which we ended up winning the bid to host this facility is alarming. One day the expected location was SFU in Burnaby the next it was announced as Richmond. Where was the public consultation? How much goodwill between Richmond and Burnaby was lost?
Lets have more transparency around these decisions.
